My Teaching Experience !

TEFL Institute Oct.20: My Final Presentation Posted by Hello

I really had so much fun attending my teaching course in TEFL (Teaching English as Foreign Language) @ TEFL Institute in Silom Plaza here in Bangkok. It's a 120-hrs course of lectures, discussions, lesson planning, presentations, brain storming & on-hand teaching experience. I've met some new personalities from all walks of life & it's a worthy experience. During my first presentation, that was after a week of learning some teaching basic techniques, I was so nervous and even searched the web for additional infos. on the topic I will discuss. Thanks goodness! that everything went just well and whew!...then came our 3hrs. final exams...the moment of truth! We started @ 10:30 in the morning on Oct. 19. My American-Mexican classmate, Gus finished first...then I followed 30 mins. after him. I could say that I did very well although, I am not feeling very well for the past days 'coz of my morning sickness. I had one mistake at the last part of the exam...hehehe...that was a relief though...cause, I was not expecting to have a 100% result but then, I've got 99%. The next day was scheduled for our final presentation: a lesson of our choice. I decided to present something about Halloween since it's almost trick or treat'n time. I prepared some halloween materials which I gathered from the internet and prepared some halloween decors. I even downloaded some halloween music and brought my laptop with me for some spooky effects! Everyone in my class enjoyed the presentation (based on their comments!) and I really am so happy & relieved. Now, I still have one more lesson to go @ Goodwill in Ruamrudee with Michael from Belgium. It's part of our 6-hrs teaching practice wherein I have students aged 29-33 yrs. old. Graduation is on the 22nd.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Denise's Birthday @ Baiyoke 2004 Posted by Hello

Happy Birthday to my dear Husband !!!

He celebrated his birthday this year @ Thailand's Tallest Building, the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It was a joint celebration with his colleague and our sisterette, Agnes, last Friday the 8th of October. Aside from the sumptuos Asian & Western meal on buffet, there were also clowns & magicians to entertain our kids and the kids @ heart...hehehe. A group of singers & musicians provided by the restaurant, rendered the traditional birthday song to the celebrants and with them is a mascot, sporting a gorilla costume!!! whoa!!! After raiding the buffet table and some entertainments, the traditional gift giving followed: Our beloved friends, presented Denise' a yellow-orange long-sleeved Nautica sport shirt & a book by Rick Warren, "the Purpose Driven Life". We Sisterettes on the other hand, gifted Agnes with a pair of Swarovski loop earrings & a huge huggable Winnie the Pooh Stuffed bear. We ended the night touring the view deck of Baiyoke Sky while being amazed with the beautiful view of Bangkok by night as aerial viewed from the 78th Floor...happy birthday to Denise & Agnes.

Denise' exact bday's today ( October 15), so we're going to have a simple family celebration here at the house then we'll have fun under the sun @ Siam Park (Theme Park & Water Park)tomorrow.Till next year!!! Again, happy Birthday Papa!!! We love you dearly...

What it feels like being a "Madonna" the 3rd time?

Our 2 sons are such blessings that we thought they're enough for us. They've been so cuddly, affectionate, sweet & thoughtful, energetic and smart; you can never ask for anything more...but after a year and a half of contraceptives, we felt something's still missing...Why not have a new baby? - the smell of a new born, the fragile body, those cute little hands, fingers, feet & toes...the angelic face and those sweet little yawn from a sweet little mouth. And so, it was decided... I stopped taking my pills March of this year. We're also following the "chinese calendar" for the desire to have a baby girl (on which April until October permits it)... so it's definitely a "GO!".

It's been 5 months since then and yet, the result was always negative. We tried consulting an OBGyne during our Philippine vacation last August and she told us that it's just normal for a long wait since I've been into pills for more than a year (it has changed some linings from my uterus but nothing to worry much). She then had me a pap smear test and advised us to just continue trying. My hubby and I settled that if I won't get pregnant at the end of October, then perhaps it's not really the time yet, so I'll just continue with my pills and accept reality...

August 30: We went back in Bangkok after our 2-week Philippine break. 3 weeks after, I was not feeling very well (I always got light-headed and uneasy). At first I thought it was my period. Then after another week, I wondered why I still don't have the spotting that I usually have every month (after taking my contraceptive, I've been irregular and just experiencing brown spots instead of the usual normal flow). I asked Denise that we may need to buy a pregnancy test coz' it's been delayed for more than a month. Then reality set in...

The next morning I woke up early, so eager to know what's the real score. I closed my eyes and waited for the result...After 3 mins, the test didn't give any indication so I tried dropping more urine unto the strip. Then, suddenly it went red and wholla! double lines appeared! Am I pregnant??? Did I follow the instructions correctly??? Those were the questions that followed...I jumped into the bed and announced the result to my husband. He gave me a tight embrace and planted a light kiss on my forehead.

That day, I tried looking for a lady OBGyne. Most of them here in Bangkok are men and I don't think I will be comfortable, so I searched for a lady at Bumrungrad's website. Luckily, I was able to find one - Dra. Anong Lekagul. I called the Hospital and asked for an appointment with her at 3pm. I was on a waiting list and luckily, I got in. And there it was! - the confirmation of my latest pregnancy!!!

Am I scared, happy, overjoyed...or confused? a mixed emotions that time... Yes!... happy to have another long-awaited bundle of joy...but scared that I may not care for the baby the way I did to my 2 kids...sad that I may not be able to slip into my usual wardrobe for a while...but generally overjoyed thinking that we'll be having another joy in our family...
