Last Night while was watching " National Treasure " on DVD, I was sitting comfortably in the couch as usual and enjoying baby's movements inside of me. I tried having Denzel feel her and voila! Denzel was able to feel Diantha's strong kick! Denzel cannot beleived how strong his baby sister is... He commented : Whoa ! So... BIG! that same night, I also asked hubby to put his hand on my belly as we waited for another amazing baby movements...and she did... Hubby kissed my belly and really looked so happy. Diantha's movements now out in the Open ! (January 30, 2005 * Sunday night)

Annual Family General Check-Up

Checking Denzel's BP & BT Posted by Hello

Scheduled @ half past 8 in the morning of Saturday, January 29, 2005... Our Family went to Bumrungrad Hospital here in Bangkok for our Family's Annual General Check-Up this year. Of course I am not included this year since I have my regular monthly prenatal check-up with my OB and the next will be this coming Friday (Feb. 4). Only my boys had their health status checked and this year is quite easier for Denzel & Dale, they we're not taken any blood samples for testing unlike what they had last year... Whew! what a relief...not even an Xray scan was performed on them. But of course their Papa can't run away from those tests...he can't be excluded! hahaha...Hubby had ECG, Xray , Blood Tests, etc. Denzel & Dale kept on giggling when we told them they needed to produce their "Urine & Stool" on the spot! hahaha... they kept saying "EWWW!" hahaha...they even kept popping several questions, like " why does their knees bounces when the Doctor hit it with a hammer?" hahaha...kids curiosity...Everything went just well except for the fact that we were left so hungry during the 3 1/2 hrs of tests.

90th Wedding Monthsary...

We celebrated our 90th Wedding Monthsary (23rd January, the first monthsary for this year) with a simple dinner in our place. We've had " tuna steak in butter & garlic sauce" garnished with "buttered mixed veggies & potato gratin plus mushroom soup" and "garlic friedrice" for main course which I personally prepared for the occasion. To complete the meal , we bought a mini butter cake & some selection of pastries for dessert . We heard mass in the afternoon to give thanks for all the Blessings our Wonderful Marriage have received and been receiving for the past years, stayed home and spend the rest of the day with our kids... I Love being married to My Sunlight !

Half Way There ! ( 5 months & counting!)

I've made it to the halfway mark — Hurray! The top of my uterus is at the level of my belly button now, and I've gained about 9 pounds.I even noticed that I've been doing the "Preggy Walk" nowadays, unconsciously touching & massaging my belly every 30 seconds! hahaha... & gosh! sleeping really is getting harder! Being five months pregnant is not unlike undergoing massive structural renovation from the inside out. I feel like a building under construction: I've seen the plans, but I don't have any say in how it's all going to go. All I can do is stand by, let the work unfold, and try not to let it freak me out too much.

This feeling manifests in so many ways. My navel resembles the swollen-shut eye of a prizefighter. My belly feels itchy and stretched to the bursting point most especially after a meal, and I can imagine a tiny fist popping through at any moment...Diantha's been so active nowadays especially when I am lying down, resting...She's unstoppable now and so is my growing belly ! There was a time not too long ago when I could hide the fact that I'm pregnant. Those days, along with what was left of my waist, are gone. What a joy to be able to hold my burgeoning belly out freely and proudly. This, of course, is great on several fronts. First, knowing that my baby is healthy and growing makes me all dumb and happy. On other fronts, though, this starting-to-show thing isn't so great. It's hard enough to get used to looking like you're stashing a watermelon under your pants & shirt. But I feel pretty good and pretty cute at the same time...hihihi.

I still haven't signed up for a childbirth education class, not in the mood yet and besides, hubby & I are also planning to have a C-Section delivery...so I am still thinking about joining a childbirth class...but what do you know, we might sign up as well one of these days...At 37 weeks, I'll be considered full-term, and I am so excited to reach that stage!
Baby's Developments :

Diantha now weighs about 10 1/2 ounces . She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel.A greasy white substance called vernix caseosa coats her entire body to protect her skin during its long submersion in amniotic fluid. (This slick coating also eases the journey down the birth canal.)

Our princess is swallowing more, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky substance that's the result of cell loss, digestive secretion, and swallowed amniotic fluid. This meconium will accumulate in her bowels, and I'll see it in her first messy diaper (although a few babies pass it in utero or during
delivery).

Pregnancy Diary: 4th Month... Growing Pains, Growing Excitement!

I thought that announcing we are expecting a Girl was going to be a really, really happy event. And for the most part, it was. Both sets of parents were ecstatic, naturally, and plenty of my pals literally shrieked. But as I've been reading through some UltraSound Scan results from other expecting parents comments...wherein some ended up the other way around...made me feel so uneasy...and quite, worried. I worry 'coz we really are hoping for a little princess...but it should be ok for us if we'll be blessed with another boy...as long as it is healthy. And having boys was really a great experience not to mention that, I am the Queen & the Princess rolled into one in our Family...hehehe...but then again, since we were given the hope of expecting a Princess made us really so Happy!

We got pregnant within the six months period of my going off the Pill (which basically is the normal period). And we really are contented with that. My pants are getting a bit tight -- no surprise, considering I'm in my fourth month and not to mention that this is my third pregnancy. Good thing that I was able to shop beforehand on some Maternity pants and bit by bit...on blouses, but not those regular maternity blouses stuff...but blouses that are comfy & 2 size bigger than my usual. I also shopped for cotton free-size briefs, (Actually, Wacoal First in LL size...you know the kids stuff..hehehe) because I am not comfortable with the silk or nylon thing underpants. We even started shopping for some baby stuff as early as September last year, coz' we really are trying to conceived that time. And as soon as we learnt that we are on the way... we then started buying clothes for the baby as well especially on the month of December when ShoppingMalls really had so many stuffs on Sale. We tried to pick colors that can go for a girl or a boy. I know I'm going to go nuts shopping, all those little outfits are just out-of-control adorable, especially the girl clothes and lately, right after we've learned about we are expecting Diantha... I can't help but started picking up some cute & girly like clothes! But then again, I refrained doing so after a couple of days...for we might end up wrong...still need to have another UltraSound Scan to re-confirm maybe on my next Pre-Natal Appoinment...hope Diantha stays Diantha til' then! hihihi...

My Triple Marker Test ( for Down's Syndrome) came back Normal like my previous blood test ( I tell you, the first one was really scary ! They need to get 3-vials of blood from my arm and I just almost fainted! hahaha) . One Hospital Staff from Bumrungrad called me last Wednesday, the 12th of this month and informed me that evrything is Normal... It's quite quick really, coz' we are expecting the result after two-weeks (Jan. 21)... and it just feel good...that's one less thing to worry.
I have to say, my fourth month has otherwise not that fine, I mean... I've been feeling several pregnancy uneasiness : dizziness, backaches, heartburn , shortness of breathe and round ligaments pains. I even feel that my tummy's so stretched already although it's only been 4 months and I still need 5 more heck of months to go! hehehe... I even missed several chapters of What To Expect When You're Expecting & I really need to go on with the book. Can't even concentrate with our loads of pictures to be edited ! Whew! been really so lazy and not in the mood lately too... . What's amazing is that - I felt the baby moving for the first time. At first, it was barely perceptible, just like little butterflies floating around my belly. Before I knew it, they turned into full-fledged kicks. I smile every single time I feel one. If my eldest son, Denzel's around, I grab his hand so he can try to feel it but he can't yet. This is just between the baby and me. My two lovely boys just love pampering me by massaging my belly with Nivea or Johnson's Vitamin E Lotion and they really love kissing my belly too! Just so sweet...They too, are so excited about this pregnancy & can't wait to cuddle their little sister soon.Denzel even wrote in his School Journal with a Theme : What Makes You Happy as he wrote ; What Makes Me Happy is when my baby sister comes out from my Mom's tummy... and that went as his number one on his list of 8! really touching... Hubby also have the same thing, he's so excited and he's now more protective to me than ever...hahaha. Every morning, he not just kiss us before going to work, but he never forget to kiss my belly too... as he asked..."Diantha, what are you doing there?"...

At night, we lie in bed, I place 1 pillow each on my side and an extra one on my head. I started not to lie on my back but on my sides. And it's really hard to get some sleep nowadays...whew!; I sure haven't felt many urges to have sex lately. I figure one of these days those old hormones will kick in. Hubby's been very understanding .

We also completed our 9-Day Novena to St. Raymund Nonnatus (Patron Saint of Expecting Mothers) as we give thanks to this upcoming blessing & asked for his Guidance on my healthy & safe Pregnancy...til' I deliver... and at the same time, Our deepest prayer to really have a Princess to cuddle with ...

It's Our Most Awaited Princess... Posted by Hello

"Christine Diantha ! " Divine Goddess of Flowers...

Posted by Hello during the Sonogram...@ 4 months (7th Jan:Friday) ...

After almost 5 long years of prayers , hopes ,wishes ... and long waits ... finally... Our little Princess is on her way ! I've just had my monthly pre-natal check-up today which started @ 1 in the afternoon and at the same the most awaited ultrasound to check baby's health condition & yes...the gender! Although my triple marker test through blood testing was kind'a painful (ouch!), I just focused myself on the next stage of my check-up...The Ultrasound. Been so nervous whether we'll have another "Joy Boy" or a new "Sugar & Spice"...and finally, finally... she was a Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice... Our Little Princess.

Blood Testing for the Triple Marker Test

can't face the needle...ouch! Posted by Hello

At The UltraSound :

The doctor performing the ultrasound, Dr. Prakrit, was even so nice and friendly. He asked if this was my first pregnancy and I told him, it was our third. He even asked how many boys or girls we have and we answered back for 2 boys. Then, he continued with his job as he check every single details needed for the said ultrasound. He even took extra effort locating baby's genitalia to determine whether our baby's a boy or a girl...I was really holding up...can't breathe well until we finally see the result...hubby's busy capturing the ultrasound on the videocamera thru the screen...then, the Doctor asked again..." so... you already have 2 boys, right? " then we replied..."Yeah..." holding our breath...all eyes on the screen as he scrolls back and forth...but I still can't see any sign of a boy's organ..not like with Denzel & Dale where we found out so quickly!...but still, not pretty sure this time until the Doctor finally told us his findings. Then he smiled & said..."well, It's a GIRL this time!"...hahaha...whew!really???...hubby who was busy recording the sonogram...suddenly paused the record botton and hurriedly asked..." Is it Sure?... I mean..." then the Doctor responded... Yes! 90% sure... as he smiled back and looked so happy for us as he showed us Little Diantha's tiny hands waving on the screen... to say "Hello" to Mama & Papa...

Inside My Ob's Clinic:

We then, see my ObGyne, Dra. Anong Lekagul and told her the result. He herself have 2 boys and never again attempted to try another pregnancy for the fear of having another boy...hahaha...well, we just showed her how brave we are and how successful our venture was! She was so happy and even agreed that the picture from the U/S really looked like a Girl's Flower... hehehe. But before finally entering her Bumrungrad Clinic... I called one of my Sisterette here in Bangkok, Sis Judee...to share our good news. Hubby sent chikka messages to some of our family and friends before heading inside to see Dra. Anong who prescribed additional Iron Supplements and warned me about the sudden changed in my bowel. She continue to give me my usual Vitamins "Genalin F" and everything went well and my next appointment will be on the 4th of February... but prior to that schedule, I need to check my Triple Marker Test result after 2 weeks.

Well then, still can't beleived that our prayers and our on-going novena to St. Raymund (thanks to Sis Princess) which is still 4 more nights to go... were already answered. How Powerful Prayers Really Are! Hope everything will be just fine with the Triple Marker Test since my sonogram tests today went well.

Triple Marker Test TODAY! @ exactly 18 wks (4months)... Baby's Gender to be revealed as well !!!

Today is the 7th of January, new year 2005... I am now embarking into my 18th week pregnancy ( 4 months ) and today, I am set to undergo my first major pregnancy test : The Triple Marker Test scheduled @ exactly 1 in the afternoon at the Bumrungrad Hospital. The test is usually given between 15 and 20 weeks of pregnancy, with 16 to 18 weeks (when the hormone levels are most consistent) being the optimum time. My practitioner will have my blood sample taken, usually from the arm, and sent to a lab for analysis. When this compound is added to the test, the detection rate for Down syndrome increases to between 67 and 76 percent in women younger than 35.

My ObGyne will now check how my baby's growing, screen for certain birth defects, check the placenta and umbilical cord and determine whether the due date we're working with is accurate. During the exam, we might see baby moving around or sucking her thumb. I'll bring hubby along as usual, and we'll be sure to ask for a printout to add in our baby's first photo album!

I am very nervous , kind'a scared and so excited at the same time because today,we'll probably be able to find out whether we're having a boy or a girl. Really so hoping for a baby girl... Keep you guys posted ! Finger's crossed...Hope everything goes well.

baby's image @ 4 months : babycenter Posted by Hello

Now that I'm four months pregnant. ..head to bottom, my baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a large sweet potato) and she weighs almost 7 ounces and covered with a layer of fine, downy hair called lanugo ( which is why my belly's been so itchy lately... ). She's busy flexing her arms and legs — movements that I've been starting to notice more and more.(By the way, I felt her first kick @ exactly 17 weeks (Dec. 31, 2004) on a Friday morning @ around 9:35 up in my right tummy and the feeling was really marvelous indeed!) Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin and her ears are now in position and stand out from her head. Myelin (a protective covering) is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she's born. If I'll be having a girl, her uterus and Fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If he's a boy, his genitals are noticeable, though he may hide them from us during the ultrasound. See you this afternoon baby...kisses!

A Blessed New Year from Our Family...to Yours...

" It is a time of reflection – of looking back at those moments captured in our memories of the year(s) prior. It is a time when we turn inward, contemplating both our accomplishments and setting forth a new set of goals – or resolutions."

" Wishing you all the best in the New Year!... Farewell 2004!! 2005 is moving in "

You can view our Simple New Year Celebration Album with The Capucaos & The Valerosos here:

Year 2004 : * A Reflection *

Year 2004 had been such a wonderful year for our family. It may not be the perfect year but it's an ideal one! We had visited several places and even had the chance to travel back to Singapore to celebrate the Christmas Holidays. It's just so sad that the year ended up with a Tragedy... The Asia Tsunamis in the South. We pray for the souls of those lives taken by the killer waves and our symphathy goes to their grieving family...We're really blessed not to be one of those unlucky souls and God is really Good ! But above all, the real Blessing we've got... is Our Upcoming Bundle of Joy... May this New Year 2005 be as fruitful and as Prosperous or if not better than what we had for the Year of the Monkey.
